Global Warming: Chasing the Truth

For a very long time, politicians and scientists have said that the average temperature on our planet is rising every year and we should change our way of life style in order to preserve our world for future generations. On the other hand, there is a different group of scientists who affirm that global warming is a myth. Some even go so far as saying governments and authorities know this, but still support it because it distracts the voters’ attention. This debate has always got my attention and I started researching more about it.

What amazed me was how a group of scientists showed how the most reliable sources of temperature data are gathered from the satellites. Their data is gathered from all over the globe, not just from particular areas; it is very accurate and there is no room for human-error. And what do their studies show? That there is no global warming danger.

Previous studies supporting global warming have been gathering data from land-based stations; this particular research method can be inaccurate and only covers a small part of any area, so it is quite hard to make error-free conclusions. I was quite surprised to learn that several of these stations were positioned quite near towns and cities; this particular localization brings so many confounding variables to the table. As well all know, just because statistics can show that something is significant, it does not mean that it can be generalizable to the whole planet.

I recently read articles about how the efforts made by our government to reduce greenhouse gases are very expensive and so far do not provide good results. I can’t help but think about how all the money our government is investing is ending up in the hands of big companies that are connected with clean energies business. Can you imagine what that will mean for you and me?  The average tax-paying citizen will have to contribute even more with even higher taxes to balance the reckless economic decisions. One can clearly see how a small group of people has so much to gain from the mass hysteria caused by global warming.

What if climate change is really happening? Could it really be our fault? Global temperatures have been going up and down throughout Earth’s history; there were times in the beginning of human civilization when it was warmer than it is now. We adapted to decreases in temperature, I am quite certain we can adapt to anything our future brings us.

In my opinion, global warming is just hype. Our government seems to support it, but we have to ask ourselves, why are the authorities so reticent when it comes to looking at the whole picture? I think we should not just believe everything we are being showed. I question issues that are presented to me like supreme truths. In the end, we all know that people in power will do almost everything to reach their ends. Information is our power and knowledge about our geological history can lead us to the truth.

What is Climate Change?

I see a lot of people voicing their opinions about climate change, and how mankind is completely responsible for it.  Then, come to find out, these people don’t even fully understand what climate change is.  That personally drives me crazy; if you’re going to have an opinion on something, that’s fine, as long as you know what you’re talking about.  Otherwise, where is your proof?  Before forming an opinion about climate change, you need to understand it as much as possible, so maybe this will help.

Understanding Climate Change

Climate itself includes many patterns, mainly involving precipitation, wind, temperature, humidity, and even the seasons.  Think about how the summers have been getting warmer, for instance, with hot weather in surprising places.  Climate change isn’t just about weather though; instead, it pertains to how the seasons change over a fairly long span of time.  Those changes are how essential ecosystems are shaped over time, but there is fundamental proof that the Earth has been going through extreme climate changes throughout its history.

Climate Change vs. Global Warming

Many people also believe that climate change is the same thing as global warming, but that is not true, although the two things are related.  Global warming is actually the cause for climate changes – but that is no bad thing.  Activists use this to try and make the point that global warming is only happening now, it has never happened before, and climate changes prove that.  However, over different eras throughout history, the climate has undergone much more intense changes than you see right now.

The Cause of Climate Change

I’ve noticed that the biggest debate among those who think climate change and global warming is natural versus those who believe humans cause it, has to do with the actual cause of climate change.  Activists try to say that it’s all carbon dioxide and nothing else.  That is not quite the full story, though.  Highly respected scientists who support the idea of natural climate change point out that something as innocuous as water vapor has a hugely detrimental effect on the climate, even more so than CO2.

The Truth about Climate Change

My opinion on climate change is different that the opinion special interest groups try to make everyone else believe.  I’ve seen and read enough to believe that, all throughout its history, the Earth has gone through climate changes.  Many of them have been significantly worse than what we are seeing now.  There are scientists, for instance, who point out that during certain eras in the past, even the North Pole was hot enough to grow a garden.  The climate goes through consistent changes over time – it heats up, then it cools down, and life goes on.

There are groups, businesses, and even governments out there who would like you to believe that you and me and everyone else are all personally responsible for climate change.  That is a ridiculous assertion, especially when you take the time to look at the facts.  I may not be a professional geologist, physicist, biologist, or oceanographer, but I do know how to research.  The things I’ve found make it pretty clear that the Earth has gone through climate changes dozens of times before; that is part of its pattern.  It happened before any of us were around and will continue after.

Top 20 Natural Global Warming Facts

Global warming is an extremely hot topic and separate factions are at war with each other.  I believe global warming is an entirely natural occurrence that happens because of certain aspects of the environment.  There are many facts and opinions which prove this theory, twenty of which will be detailed here to show why global warming occurs naturally.

Top 20 Natural Global Warming Facts:

  1. At the present moment, scientific proof is lacking in a number of respects pertaining to global warming.  Specifically, there is no sufficient proof of a link between man made greenhouse gases and global warming.
  2. Statistics show that only 0.00022 percent of all CO2 emissions throughout history are caused by humans. That could not have caused the current climate issues.
  3. As well, the Earth itself has a history of going through hotter periods of time.  In fact, the Earth went through a similar phase 800 years prior to the current increase in carbon dioxide emissions.
  4. Following the Second World War, for example, CO2 levels saw an enormous increase.  However, for 40 years after that fact, temperatures around the globe saw significant decreases.
  5. Throughout history, other happenings have disproved the link between CO2 emissions and rising temperatures.  Specifically, there have been many times where CO2 emissions and temperatures were much higher.
  6. Temperatures and climates go through trends like everything else.  Currently, the 33.3 degrees Fahrenheit, increase is in line with determined and established climate trends over time, all of which took place naturally.
  7. There are suggestions stemming from the scandal called Climate-Gate that current reports on global warming have been exaggerated substantially and may be manipulative.
  8. In the community of scientists and climate specialists, a theory must usually be met by 4,000 favorable reviews.  With the IPCC theory pertaining to global warming, however, only 60 scientists have upheld and driven the theory.
  9. Activists and scientists say that global warming and melting polar ice caps are the reason seal levels are increasing.  However, sea levels have actually been going up for the past 10,00 years, since the last big ice age.
  10. Further research makes the more believable suggestion that the sun itself is the cause for most of the climate changes occurring right now, and has been for the past 100 years.
  11. Other experts make it clear that the current change in climate temperatures is too complex and complicated a matter to be caused by one thing.  So, it cannot possibly be solely the fault of man made emissions.
  12. Many experts also believe that research accusing humans of global warming is shallow.  There is not enough proof to publish such results.
  13. People in the United States are among the only ones who believe global warming is man made.  In the UK, for instance, citizens typically eschew the idea.
  14. A lot of scientists think it is absurd to blame global warming on just one trace gas.  Other, outside factors band together to affect the atmosphere and climate.
  15. Insofar as greenhouse gases go, CO2 is considered minor.  Water vapors are far more serious, and we have no control over those at all.
  16. Many scientists believe that water vapor and cloud covers are more responsible for the current temperatures.  They amount to more than the concentrations of CO2.
  17. Solar studies have produced evidence that suggest the increase in temperature is temporary.  Over the coming decades, the climate will cool significantly.
  18. The “problem” of melting glaciers is actually a myth.  In fact, glaciers go through cycles of melting and growing over hundreds of years.
  19. The belief that CO2 will harm Antarctica, Greenland, and the polar ice caps is greatly exaggerated.  Research disproves that so-called theory.
  20. Activists have been worried that temperatures have increased since 1900.  However, those changes are consistent with long observed cycles that are completely natural.
